Job summary

Randstad Education is recruiting a Teaching Assistant in East Grinstead for a specialist provision with students having SEN and complex needs including Autism. The role is 1:1 and in small groups, supporting learning and behaviour in a welcoming environment.

This full-time, term-time position runs 08:30–16:15, Monday to Friday, with onsite parking and CPD opportunities. The school values compassionate, energetic staff who can make a real difference to young people’s lives.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children.
• GCSEs in Maths and English.
• Ability to motivate children.
• Clear and concise written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver 1:1 and small group support to develop social and friendship skills.
• Support and encourage behaviour and emotional development of students.
• Liaise with teachers about student needs and progress.
• Promote safeguarding of young people at all times.
• Work with SENCO to ensure regular communication between school and home.
• Ensure targets are set using individual Education, Health and Care Plans.
