Job summary

Horizon Care Ltd. is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for Bushbury School in Wolverhampton to support pupils with SEN aged 7-19, including autism and SLCN.

You will work alongside teachers to implement personalised plans, provide 1:1 and small-group support, and help create calm, structured learning environments.

The role requires GCSEs and a TA qualification or willingness to pursue one; 37.5 hours per week, full-time, with a supportive multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, autism or behavioural needs.
  • Understanding of behaviour support strategies and emotional regulation.
  • Committed to inclusive practice with a patient, reflective approach.

Responsibilities

  • Support learning, communication and emotional regulation inside and beyond the classroom.
  • Work with teachers to implement personalised learning pathways aligned to EHCP outcomes.
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to engage pupils in learning.
  • Use routines and positive behaviour support to create calm, safe environments.
  • Help create sensory-aware spaces that promote wellbeing and engagement.
  • Build professional relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary team.
