Job summary

Pioneer People Ltd are recruiting experienced SEN Teaching Assistants to join a specialist SEN setting in Bromsgrove on a long-term basis. The role covers 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with a range of additional needs.

The setting supports pupils from EYFS through to Post-16, with flexibility around age group based on experience and preferences. A calm, patient approach and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEN.
• Experience within a specialist SEN setting or school environment is desirable.
• A calm, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• A relevant Teaching Assistant or SEN qualification is desirable.
• Experience supporting autism, SEMH, ADHD, SLD or complex needs would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support
• Supporting pupils with a range of additional and complex needs
• Encouraging engagement, independence and positive learning behaviours
• Supporting emotional regulation and behaviour where required
• Following individual support plans and working closely with teaching and pastoral staff
• Maintaining a safe, structured and supportive learning environment
