Job summary

Remedy Education is assisting an SEN school in Ongar to recruit a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in both primary and secondary settings. You will work 1:1 and in small groups with children who have a range of needs, helping to create a calm, structured learning environment.

The role starts ASAP, is full-time and long-term with potential permanent opportunities. You will need experience with SEN, a calm and resilient approach, and be comfortable supporting

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with SEN, ASD, ADHD or complex needs.
• Calm, patient and resilient approach.
• Confident supporting non-verbal or limited communication pupils.
• Willing to support personal care where needed.

Responsibilities

• Providing 1:1 and small group support across primary and secondary classes.
• Supporting communication, emotional regulation and engagement in learning.
• Following EHCP targets and individual support plans.
• Assisting with personal care where required.
• Working closely with teachers, SENCOs and external professionals.
• Helping maintain a calm, structured and positive learning environment.
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development.
