Job summary

Aspire People are seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work across Derby schools. You will support pupils with SEN, including ASD and ADHD, helping them reach their potential in a nurturing environment.

You will work 1:1 and in small groups, assist with IEPs, promote positive behaviour, and collaborate with teachers and SENCOs. A DBS on the update service is required or willingness to obtain one through Aspire People.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred).
• A patient, caring, and resilient approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to adapt to different school settings and pupil needs.
• An enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one through Aspire People).

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with SEN (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties).
• Support students with academic, social, and emotional development.
• Work with class teachers and SENCOs to implement IEPs.
• Promote positive behaviour and create an inclusive, safe learning environment.
• Assist with classroom activities and adapt learning materials as needed.
