Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for a mainstream school in South Shields. The role involves long-term, full-time or part-time opportunities, supporting pupils with SEN on a 1-2-1 basis and in small groups to boost learning and engagement.

The successful candidate will work with children with ASD, ADHD and SEMH, bringing a patient, adaptable and positive approach to daily classroom activity and individual needs.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with SEN.
• Experience working with children with ASD, ADHD and/or SEMH.
• Confidence providing 1-2-1 and small group support.
• Patient and positive approach.
• Adaptability and willingness to support pupils' individual needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide learning support to pupils with SEN.
• Support engagement and development in learning.
• Deliver 1-2-1 and small group interventions as required.
