Job summary

The Primary First Trust Limited in Erith, Kent, is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant to support pupils with special educational needs. You’ll work with teachers and staff to help learners stay engaged, understand tasks, and grow into confident, independent learners.

This varied role covers 1:1 and group support, reading and storytelling, and preparing learning spaces and displays, with a 30-hour week over 39 weeks per year. Fixed-term ending 22 July 2027.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children, including those with SEN, is valued.
• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building with children and parents/carers.
• Willingness to develop your own practice and safeguarding awareness.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with SEND.
• Identify pupils needing extra support and work with staff to meet needs.
• Read with and read to children; bring stories to life.
• Prepare classrooms and displays; create learning resources.
