Our client, a welcoming and well-resourced special needs school based in Witney, West Oxfordshire, is seeking to appoint a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2025. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about supporting children and young people with a range of learning difficulties, including autism, speech and language needs, and social, emotional and mental health challenges.
About the Role:
Supporting students on a 1:1 or small-group basis across a range of ages and abilities
Assisting the class teacher with lesson preparation and differentiated learning activities
Promoting positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing through consistency and encouragement
Helping to create a safe, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment
Contributing to EHCP targets and supporting therapy sessions where appropriate
About You:
Experience working with children or young people with SEN, either in education, care, or support settings
A patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach to learning and behaviour support
A strong communicator who can build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
Able to follow individualised learning plans and contribute to a team-based approach
Relevant qualifications (e.g. CACHE, Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant, or equivalent) are desirable but not essential
