Description du poste

SEN Teaching Assistant Work in Coventry, 1:1 and Small Group Work

Trust doesn't arrive on day one. It builds in small ways, like a pupil saving you a seat on the carpet, or choosing you to show their drawing to first. For a child who finds school hard, that bond is often what makes learning possible. It needs the same adult, day after day.

Sprint Education Recruitment places SEN Teaching Assistants into long-term roles in primary, secondary and alternative provision settings across Coventry and nearby parts of Warwickshire, including Bedworth, Nuneaton, Rugby and Kenilworth. Depending on the school, the work could be 1:1 or small group support for students with additional needs. We're speaking to SEN Teaching Assistants now so we can match them to long-term roles as they come up.

Some of the pupils you might support find school hard in ways that show up as distress, refusal or, at times, physical behaviour. Before you start any role, we'll talk you through what it involves, how the school approaches behaviour and who you'd go to for support.

What SEN Teaching Assistant work involves
  • Working 1:1 with a pupil, or with a small group, over a term or longer

  • Sharing observations with the class teacher and SENCO so everyone's working from the same picture
  • Helping in the wider classroom when a pupil you support attends part-time

  • A calm, consistent approach that doesn't take behaviour personally

What we offer

We offer weekly PAYE pay and a named consultant who'll be straight with you about each school before you start. You'll have access to SEN and behaviour training as you go. Our placements are built around staying with the same pupils, so you can see progress over months rather than days. If you're an SEN Teaching Assistant who wants that kind of continuity, this is the work we do.

Why Sprint?

If you're looking to work as a teacher in a mainstream classroom, providing day-to-day supply cover, we're probably not the agency for you. But if you're passionate about supporting students with additional needs and want a long-term role as an SEN Teaching Assistant, where you can build consistency and see the impact of your work every day, that's exactly what we do.

Salary is dependent on experience, training, or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position is previous experience working in a school setting.

Sprint Education Recruitment is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. We take our responsibilities extremely seriously. All staff we register will undertake thorough interviewing and referencing checks and hold, or be prepared to undergo, an Enhanced DBS check that must be registered on the Update Service.
