Vetro Recruitment is seeking a Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant to join a dedicated SEN school in Liverpool. You will work with pupils from early years to Year 6 in a specialist provision, supporting tailored programmes to develop communication, independence and wellbeing.

In this on-site role, you’ll collaborate with teachers and staff across both specialist and mainstream settings, contributing to a supportive, inclusive learning environment.

Qualifications

Specialist SEN Teaching Assistant (TA) - Liverpool

Are you a dedicated and compassionate SEN teaching assistant looking to make a positive impact in a highly inclusive educational environment? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEN TA to join a supportive SEN School in South Liverpool.

This role is suitable for someone passionate about supporting pupils with complex needs from early years to Year 6 in a specialist provision setting.

Location: Liverpool, Merseyside

About the Role

As a SEN teaching assistant in the primary phase, you will work within a dedicated on-site specialist provision supporting pupils with a range of needs, including those with EHCPs and SEND.

You will assist in delivering tailored programmes aimed at developing communication, independence, and wellbeing, helping pupils access an ambitious curriculum in an inclusive setting. This role involves working closely with teachers and senior staff in the classroom, as well as during unstructured times such as transitions, play, and lunch.

This is a full-time Monday to Friday position working 8am - 3pm

Candidate Requirements
  • Experience working with pupils with SEND, especially in a nursery or primary setting
  • Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and the ability to follow policies diligently
  • Calm, patient, and adaptable with excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team to promote positive outcomes for pupils
Additional Information
