Job summary

Randstad Education in Bradford invites applications for a dedicated 1:1 SEND support role starting this September. You will work with a pupil with complex needs such as ASD or ADHD, under the guidance of the SENDCo, to adapt activities and promote learning engagement.

Ideal candidates will have SEND experience, GCSEs, a current Enhanced DBS or be eligible for Update Service, and a patient, resilient approach to daily school life.

Qualifications

  • Practical experience supporting SEND in care or school settings.
  • Patient, warm, resilient personality for varied learning needs.
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above.

Responsibilities

  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with complex needs such as ASD or ADHD.
  • Implement structured individual education and behaviour plans with SENDCo.
  • Adapt classroom resources and activities to make learning accessible and engaging.
  • Support emotional regulation and promote pupil independence through structured routines.
  • Monitor engagement and provide progress notes to the class teacher.

Key Roles and Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil with complex needs such as Autism (ASD) or ADHD.
  • Implement structured individual education and behaviour plans in partnership with the SENDCo.
  • Assist in adapting classroom resources and activities to make learning accessible and engaging.
  • Support emotional regulation and promote pupil independence through praise and structured routines.
  • Monitor student engagement and provide detailed progress notes to the class teacher.
Requirements for the Role
  • Practical experience supporting children with special educational needs (SEND), in care or school settings.
  • A patient, warm, and highly resilient personality capable of dealing with varied learning needs.
  • Good foundational qualifications (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Mathematics).
  • An Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or readiness to undergo a check).
  • Strong team player skills with a proactive approach to daily school life.
