Job summary

Protocol Education in Watford is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs in a primary school setting.

The role is full-time and long-term, starting September 2026, with pay competitive and experience-dependent. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEN team to build a positive, inclusive learning environment and support social, emotional and behavioural development.

We are recruiting for a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to work within a supportive primary school in Watford, providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils who require additional help with their learning and development.

This role would suit an experienced Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant or someone with previous experience in education, childcare, care or youth work.

Your Responsibilities

• Provide dedicated 1:1 support to pupils


• Assist children in accessing the curriculum


• Support differentiated activities and interventions


• Encourage communication, confidence and independence


• Support social, emotional and behavioural development


• Work closely with the class teacher and SEN team
