I am working with a vibrant Catholic Primary school located in Wiltshire that is more than just a place where children learn to read and write. It is a place where they are nurtured, where their faith is strengthened, and where they are prepared to be thoughtful, compassionate members of society. They also offer a multitude of ways to get involved with local and school based charitable work.

This school has an exciting opportunity for a SEN T A to specialise in smal l group intervention starting as soon as possible and staying on a permanent basis. You will play a vital role in pupils' educational, emotional and social development. You must be able to provide a calm, consistent and reassuring presence, adapting classroom materials to encourage engagement and proactive learning, helping them transition easily between SEN groups and mainstream schooling.

Responsibilities:

  • Adapting lesson materials, making them accessible to the pupil.
  • Confidence running group work and behaviour management.
  • Reinforcing learning objectives set by the teacher.
  • Assisting with literacy and numerical tasks breaking them down into more manageable steps.
  • Understanding the individual needs of the pupil to best support them in class.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN children.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with the pupil, parents and colleagues effectively.
  • Patience, empathy and resilience to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Relevant qualifications and training in supporting children with SEND.
  • An understanding of relevant safe guarding and child protection procedures.
