Job summary

Rikama Education Ltd. are recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for a special school in Sittingbourne to start as soon as possible. Roles cover Primary and Secondary learners aged 4 to 19 with PMLD, ASD, and mental health needs, including potential personal care in some cases.

You will work to support students 1:1 or in small groups, promoting positive behaviour within an extremely large site and excellent facilities. A permanent role may be offered after the initial period.

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting students in SEN settings (PMLD, ASD, challenging behaviour)
  • Ability to work with mixed primary and secondary ages (4–19)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capability to work 1:1 or in small groups

Responsibilities

  • Support students across Primary and Secondary ages with PMLD, ASD, and challenging behaviour.
  • Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations.
  • Provide 1:1 or small group support tailored to individual needs.
  • Collaborate with SLT and school staff to monitor progress and well-being

Rikama Education Ltd. are currently working with special school in Sittingbourne who are looking for a number of SEN Teaching Assistants to start as soon as possible for both Primary and Secondary learners, with the opportunity of a permanent role for the right candidate after the initial period. The school offers excellent facilities on an extremely large site and educate and care for students (mixed boys and girls) aged from 4 to 19 with PMLD, Complex Needs, Mental health conditions, challenging behaviour and who are on the Autistic spectrum. Some roles could require you to complete personal care.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting students in across Primary and Secondary ages with a range of individual needs including PMLD mental health, ASD and challenging behaviour.
  • Promoting positive behaviour and able to manage challenging behaviour.
  • Support on either a 1 to 1 or small group basis.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
