Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant (SEN TA)
Location: Scunthorpe
Salary: £88.94 - £104.84 per day (Depending on experience)
Start Date: After Easter 2025
Contract Type: Day-to-day/Long-term, Part-time/Full-time

How do you foster an inclusive learning environment that addresses each child’s individual needs while tracking their success beyond academics?

GSL Education seeks a dedicated and empathetic SEN Teaching Assistant to support students with specific learning requirements in Scunthorpe. In this role, you will empower students to achieve their full potential by providing personalised guidance and compassionate support.

As an SEN TA, you will deliver tailored interventions to enhance student engagement and learning across a variety of classroom settings.

Responsibilities:

  • Implement Educational Healthcare Plans (EHCPs) to address individual student needs effectively.
  • Assist with behavioural management strategies to promote positive conduct and a supportive learning atmosphere.
  • Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation and engagement from all students.
  • Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff members to ensure seamless support for students with special educational needs.
  • Monitor and document student progress, sharing insights with the educational team to facilitate ongoing improvement.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with SEN students or relevant training in special education is preferred.
  • A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field.
  • SEN/SEMH experience is required.
  • A compassionate and patient approach, with a genuine passion for helping students overcome learning barriers.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with students and collaborate with colleagues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to respond to the diverse needs of students in a dynamic classroom setting.
  • Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting all students.
  • Understanding of various SEN conditions.
  • Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
