Job summary

Milk Education is recruiting a SEN Teaching Assistant in Sale to join a welcoming secondary school on a long-term or temp-to-perm basis. This role suits experienced TA, psychology graduates, youth workers or education supporters passionate about helping students with additional needs thrive.

You will support pupils one-to-one and in small groups, work with learners with ASC/ADHD/SEMH, and assist with interventions to close gaps while collaborating with the SEND team.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience in a school or education setting is desirable.
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEN, SEMH, Autism or additional learning needs is advantageous.
  • Solid numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Level 2 or Level 3 qualification in Childcare, Education, Supporting Teaching & Learning, or equivalent hands-on experience.

Responsibilities

  • Support pupils one-to-one and in small groups according to individual learning needs.
  • Work with students with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs.
  • Help deliver intervention and catch-up sessions to close learning gaps.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher to adapt learning resources and provide classroom support.
  • Promote an inclusive classroom where every student feels safe and supported.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and engagement throughout the day.

Your Main Responsibilities
  • Supporting pupils on a one-to-one basis and in small groups, responding to their individual learning needs
  • Working with students with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH, learning difficulties, and other additional needs

Requirements or Skills
