SEN Teaching Assistant

Milk Education is a nurturing and inclusive primary school dedicated to supporting children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), particularly those with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD). Our school provides a safe, stimulating, and supportive learning environment where every child is encouraged to thrive.

We are currently seeking a resilient, passionate and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our committed team.

The Role:

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher and other professionals to support the learning and development of pupils with complex needs. This includes assisting with classroom activities, managing behaviour, providing sensory support, and attending to personal care needs when required.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for children with Autism and PMLD
• Assist with the implementation of individual learning plans (EHCPs)
• Support the social and emotional development of pupils
• Carry out personal care tasks with dignity and respect
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff
• Foster a positive, inclusive classroom environment

About You:

• Passionate about working with children with SEN
• Resilient, patient, and calm under pressure
• Able to build positive, trusting relationships with children and staff
• Experienced or keen to learn about supporting pupils with Autism and PMLD
• Willing to assist with personal care, following training and guidance
