Job summary

REESON Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary SEN provisions in Stockport. You will work with pupils aged 11-19 in a dynamic curriculum that promotes independence and communication, within a safe and nurturing environment.

The role focuses on understanding behaviours, supporting learners with SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex needs, and collaborating with teachers, therapists and the broader team to help students build confidence and life skills.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g., SLD, PMLD, autism, complex medical needs).
• Calm, patient and resilient approach to managing behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists and other team members.
• Proactive attitude and passion for helping young people reach their potential.
• Level 2/3 SEN education or childcare qualifications preferred but not essential.

Pay Rates: 14.25 TO 16.65 per hour
Shift Patterns: Monday to Friday

Reeson Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner secondary SEN provisions in Stockport. This well-established specialist setting supports young people with SLD, PMLD, autism, and complex medical needs.

About the SEN Teaching Assistant Role:

• As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils aged 11-19, helping them access a dynamic curriculum that promotes independence, communication, and essential life skills.
• The school creates a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where students are encouraged to thrive. Staff here recognise that every child is unique, taking time to understand behaviours and uncover their root causes, ensuring each pupil feels valued and supported.

This is a full-time, long-term SEN Teaching Assistant role starting immediately, where you'll play an important part in building confidence, self-esteem, and a sense of belonging for these incredible young people.

What we are looking for in an SEN Teaching Assistant:

• Previous experience supporting pupils with additional needs (e.g., SLD, PMLD, autism, or complex medical needs).
• A calm, patient, and resilient approach to managing behaviours that challenge.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and other team members.
• A proactive attitude and a passion for helping young people reach their potential.
• Relevant qualifications in SEN, education, or childcare (Level 2/3 preferred but not essential).
