Job summary

Teach South Kent in Poole is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school on a full-time basis. You will work closely with teachers to provide tailored support to pupils with additional learning needs and help them access the curriculum.

You will deliver 1:1 and small-group support, assist with classroom activities, and help pupils develop academic, social and emotional skills, following individual plans and contributing to a positive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN setting or similar role is advantageous.
• Strong ability to build relationships with pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs and learning difficulties, helping them to access the curriculum, develop their confidence and achieve their individual goals.

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with varying learning difficulties and additional needs.
• Work alongside teachers to deliver engaging and accessible learning activities.
• Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
• Adapt your approach to meet individual pupils' needs.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Assist with classroom activities and contribute to a positive learning environment.
• Follow individual education and support plans where required.
