Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a specialist SEN school in Addlestone. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with a range of additional needs throughout the school day.

Role requires patience, resilience and a proactive approach, with strong communication and teamwork. Immediate and September start dates are available, with long-term arrangements and potential permanency.

Qualifications

  • Experience in an SEN setting is essential.
  • Experience supporting children with diverse additional needs.
  • Patient, resilient and proactive approach is required.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills are important.
  • Team Teach training is beneficial but not essential.
  • Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEN.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day.
  • Support pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH and other needs.
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence and social development.
  • Support learning and EHCP targets with adaptations as needed.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and the SEN team.
  • Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment.

SEN Teaching Assistant - Specialist SEN School

Addlestone Monday-Friday | 8:30am-3:30pm | Full-Time Immediate & September Starts Available

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a genuine difference?

We're working with a friendly and supportive specialist SEN school in Addlestone, looking for passionate Teaching Assistants to join their team. You'll support pupils with a range of additional needs in a nurturing, inclusive environment.

The Role
  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support throughout the school day
  • Support pupils with Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and other additional needs
  • Encourage positive behaviour, independence, confidence and social development
  • Support individual learning and EHCP targets
  • Adapt activities and provide practical support based on pupils' needs
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider SEN team
  • Help create a safe, positive and engaging learning environment
What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience in an SEN school or similar setting is essential
  • Experience supporting children with a range of additional needs
  • Patient, resilient and proactive approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Team Teach training is beneficial but not essential
  • Genuine passion for supporting children and young people with SEN
