Job summary

TeacherActive is seeking a caring Teaching Assistant for a Community Primary School in Monmouth. The role is based in the SRB, supporting pupils with SEN including Autism and ADHD. You will work with the class teacher to foster inclusion, build strong relationships and demonstrate patience in challenging situations.

The successful candidate will have Level 2 TA qualifications or relevant experience and can commit to a long-term position with potential permanent progression. Immediate start.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification OR 6 month experience in an educational establishment
• Experience working with ALN children
• Enjoyment in building relationships with children
• Excellent patience skills

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN in a Special Resource Base (SRB) unit alongside the class teacher
• Work to meet the needs of pupils with Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a Community Primary School based in Monmouth. The school prides itself on developing an ethos of a caring environment in which pupils are valued equally. This largely populated school boasts fantastic sport facilities and offers opportunities outside of lessons to promote students engagement, to help them flourish personally and academically.

The school is looking to take on an engaging Teaching Assistant / TA on a long-term basis, leading to a potential permanent position for the right Teaching Assistant / TA. The successful candidate will be working Monday, Thursday and Friday in the Special Resource Base / SRB unit of the school. They will be working closely with the class teacher to best support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour. Experience working with children with special educational needs / SEN is desired. This role is a great chance to gain plenty of experience to help build your CV.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:
