Job summary

St Elizabeth's Centre is seeking compassionate staff to support learners with complex learning needs in a school and care setting. You will work closely with teachers and therapists to deliver tailored activities and foster independence in a safe, inclusive environment.

No formal teaching qualifications are required; the right attitude, calm nature, and willingness to learn are valued. Experience in education or care is welcome but not essential, with full training provided.

Qualifications

  • Confident communicator with children who have learning disabilities.
  • Good ICT and organisational skills are important in supporting learners.

Responsibilities

  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups with learning, communication, and independence.
  • Assist in delivering tailored lessons that meet individual needs and education plans.
  • Promote a positive classroom environment that values diversity, respect, and wellbeing.
  • Provide personal care and administer medication when needed (with full training).
  • Be a proactive team member, contributing to a nurturing and developmental setting.

Job description

Working closely with teaching staff and therapists, you'll play a key part in helping learners achieve their goals, gain confidence, and enjoy their school experience in a safe, inclusive, and encouraging environment.

What you'll do:
  • Support students 1:1 and in small groups with their learning, communication, and independence
  • Assist in delivering creative, tailored lessons that meet individual needs and education plans.
  • Promote a positive classroom environment that values diversity, respect, and emotional wellbeing.
  • Provide personal care and administer medication when needed (with full training provided)
  • Contribute to a team that celebrates progress and nurtures potential - every single day. You're someone who's calm, kind, patient and genuinely passionate about helping others succeed. You don't need formal education qualifications or experience to apply, just the right attitude and a willingness to learn.
  • Experience in an education or care setting is desirable but not essential.
  • Confident communicator who can engage positively with children who have learning disabilities.
  • Able to support with personal care when needed, always with dignity and respect.
  • Strong team player with good ICT and organisational skills
