Job summary

St Elizabeth's Centre is seeking a Senior Learning Practitioner to join the 16-25 provision. You will deliver learning activities, support planning and assessment, and help learners gain independence and confidence in a collaborative multidisciplinary setting.

The role is term-time only (39 weeks) with a pro rata salary of £24,202 per annum. Working hours align with school terms, offering a balanced schedule and development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, epilepsy and learning disabilities.
• A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent).
• Makaton training would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Deliver learning activities for individuals, groups and whole classes.
• Support lesson planning, delivery and assessment.
• Monitor, record and report learner progress.
• Support development and implementation of individual learning, behaviour and personal care plans.
• Promote positive behaviour and learner engagement.
• Collaborate with education, therapy, medical and care teams to achieve excellent outcomes.
• Mentor and support colleagues as required.
• Support learners during community activities, educational visits and enrichment opportunities.

Location: St Elizabeth's School, Much Hadham, Hertfordshire

Contract: Term-time only (Monday to Friday, 39 weeks per year)

About the Role

Working closely with Teachers and a multidisciplinary team, you will take responsibility for delivering agreed learning activities and support learners to achieve their individual goals. You will play a key role in creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment whilst helping to develop independence and self-confidence.

Key responsibilities include:

About you

We're looking for someone who:

• Has experience supporting learners with additional needs, including autism, epilepsy and learning disabilities.
• Is confident delivering learning activities and supporting classroom management.
• Has excellent communication, organisational and IT skills.
• Is committed to promoting dignity, independence and inclusion.
• Works effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Has a positive, proactive and compassionate approach.

A Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning qualification (or equivalent) and additional training such as Makaton would be advantageous.
