Job description

Are you ready to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)? Emerald Teaching are looking for dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work with our partner schools in Manchester.

About the Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will:

  • Support students with SEN on a one-to-one or small group basis.
  • Collaborate with teachers to adapt lesson plans and ensure accessibility for all students.
  • Build positive relationships with students, encouraging their confidence and independence.
  • Assist in managing classroom behaviour and supporting students with emotional and social needs.
  • Work closely with parents, teachers, and external professionals to implement tailored learning plans.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN is desirable but not essential.
  • A proactive, patient, and empathetic attitude.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are preferred.
  • Knowledge of SEN strategies and an understanding of safeguarding practices.
