Job summary

Teaching Personnel in Manchester is seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to work across specialist schools in South Manchester. You will help pupils with ASC, ADHD, SEMH, SLCN and other needs, supporting learning and social development in a safe, inclusive environment.

The role focuses on 1:1 and small group support, with opportunities to develop SEN-specific skills through CPD and local consultancy guidance.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN support or related fields is preferred.
• Ability to work with pupils with diverse educational, behavioural and emotional needs.
• Background in care, youth work or support roles is advantageous.

Responsibilities

Teaching Personnel are seeking compassionate, resilient and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to work within specialist schools across South Manchester. We are looking for individuals who want to make a genuine difference to the lives of children and young people with a wide range of educational, behavioural and emotional needs.

The Role

As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will support students with a variety of additional needs, including:

• Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
• ADHD
• Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs
• Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
• Moderate and Complex Learning Difficulties
• Sensory Processing Difficulties
• Physical Disabilities

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 support tailored to individual pupil needs
• Supporting teaching and learning within the classroom environment
• Assisting with small group interventions and differentiated learning activities
• Supporting emotional regulation and implementing positive behaviour strategies
• Encouraging independence, confidence and social development
• Adapting learning resources and approaches to meet individual needs
• Building positive relationships with pupils, families and staff
• Helping create a safe, engaging and inclusive learning environment

• Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm) preferred
• An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
