Job summary

Veritas Education Recruitment is seeking a SEN Teaching Assistant for an Outstanding SEN School in Blackpool. The role involves supporting students with special educational needs, with a focus on one-on-one and small group assistance, under supervision of teaching staff.

You will work within the school to implement behaviour management strategies and track student progress, contributing to an inclusive, supportive learning environment. DBS checks and UK work eligibility are required.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with students with special educational needs is advantageous.
  • DBS and safeguarding compliance are required for all applicants.
  • Legal right to work in the UK and registration interviews are mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support student development.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to staff.
  • Manage behaviour and deploy de‑escalation strategies as needed.
  • Apply knowledge of the National Curriculum to support learning.
  • Maintain an optimistic and proactive approach to improving children's education.

SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Blackpool

Start Date: September

Pay: 14.24- 14.60 an hour

Hours: 8:30am- 15:30pm

Are you looking for a new SEN Teaching Assistant role?

Veritas Education are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant for an Outstanding SEN School. We are interested in hearing from candidates who have an interest or experience with working with SEN students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and external agencies to support the holistic development of students.
  • Monitor and track the progress of students, providing feedback to the teaching staff.
  • Be confident with behaviour management and de-escalation strategies.
  • Have good knowledge of the National Curriculum to support students with their learning.
  • An optimistic outlook and determination to make a difference to children's education.
