Job summary

Smile Education is seeking compassionate SEN Teaching Assistants to support primary schools in Hull and surrounding areas. The role involves 1:1 and small-group SEN support, with opportunities across EYFS to KS2 and flexible/long-term placements.

The ideal candidate holds a UK-recognised Level 2 TA qualification or higher, with experience supporting children with special educational needs and a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

• Ideally Level 2 TA qualification or above and right to work in the UK.
• Experience supporting children with SEN in a school setting.
• DBS and safeguarding checks compliance.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 SEN support to pupils with additional learning needs.
• Deliver small-group interventions in literacy, numeracy and communication.

Are you a compassionate and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant looking for a rewarding role where you can make a real difference?

Smile Education is recruiting enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistants to support welcoming and inclusive primary schools across Hull and the surrounding areas.

What we're looking for

• Ideally, a UK-recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above.
• Previous experience supporting children with special educational needs in a school or relevant educational setting.
• Experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs or other additional learning needs.
• A good understanding of inclusive education, safeguarding and positive behaviour support.
• Confidence adapting learning activities to meet individual needs.
• Patience, empathy, resilience and excellent communication skills.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers and achieve their potential.

Experience working with EHCPs, individual support plans, sensory needs or specialist communication strategies would be particularly welcomed.

Essential requirements

• Previous experience supporting children with SEN or additional learning needs.
• Ideally a recognised Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or above.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced child workforce DBS registered on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for a new DBS.
• Satisfactory professional references and completion of safeguarding and compliance checks.
