Job summary

TeacherActive is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a Primary School SRB in Hengoed, starting immediately. You will work closely with the class teacher to support pupils with SEN, including Autism/ADHD, in a supportive, inclusive environment. Long-term role with potential for permanent placement for the right candidate.

Experience in SEN/SRB is desirable. Salary is £85-£95 per day, with a dedicated consulting team and ongoing CPD opportunities via the My-Progression channel.

Qualifications

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification OR 6 month experience in an educational establishment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and patience working with children in SRB/SEN settings.
• Ability to adapt and remain calm under pressure in a busy school environment.

The school is looking to take on an engaging Teaching Assistant / TA on a long-term basis, leading to a potential permanent position for the right Teaching Assistant / TA.

The successful candidate will be working in the Special Resource Base / SRB unit of the school, working closely with the class teacher to best support pupils with a range of special educational needs, including Autism, ADHD and challenging behaviour. Experience working with children with special educational needs / SEN is desired. This role is a great chance to gain plenty of experience to help build your CV.

The successful Teaching Assistant will have:

• Minimum Level 2 Teaching Assistant / TA qualification OR 6 month experience in an educational establishment
• Enjoyment in building relationships with children
• Excellent patience skills
• Ability to have an open mindset to situations
