Job summary

Academics is recruiting a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Godstone from September 2026. You will provide essential 1:1 support to pupils with additional needs and help them access learning in a nurturing environment.

The role is full-time, term-time only, paying £92-£105 per day, with opportunities for professional development and progression within a supportive school community.

Role Details

Location: Godstone

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Full-time, Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)

Pay: £92-£105 per day (dependent on experience)

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality 1:1 support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, helping them access learning both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Deliver targeted small-group interventions focused on literacy, numeracy, communication, and social development.
  • Support children with a range of additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, SEMH needs, and moderate learning difficulties.
  • Foster positive relationships with pupils, helping them develop socially, emotionally, and academically.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
  • Have previous experience supporting children with SEN within a primary school, specialist provision, nursery, or similar educational setting.
  • Have knowledge of supporting pupils with Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, or other additional learning needs.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, resilience, and excellent communication skills.
