Job summary

Education Matters Group is seeking a dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant for a primary school in Leatherhead. The role is a long-term placement starting asap, supporting pupils with additional needs to access the curriculum and develop communication, social and independence skills.

You will work closely with teachers, SENCOs and support staff to implement EHCP strategies, adapt learning materials and promote positive behaviour in a supportive, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs.
• Understanding of SEND support strategies and inclusive education.
• Confident supporting pupils with communication, behavioural or sensory needs.
• Excellent interpersonal skills and a calm, supportive approach.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Holder of an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willing to apply.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualised assistance to children with learning difficulties and disabilities.
• Help implement strategies outlined in EHCPs where applicable.
• Assist teachers in preparing differentiated learning materials and activities.

We are looking for a motivated and reliable SEN Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Leatherhead for a long-term placement, starting as soon as possible.

The successful candidate will play an important role in providing tailored support to pupils with additional needs, helping them access the curriculum while developing their communication, social and independence skills.

• Help implement strategies outlined in pupils' Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs), where applicable.

• Encourage independence, confidence and participation in daily school activities.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs and other support professionals.

The Ideal Candidate
