Job summary

GSL Education is recruiting an enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistant for a special school in Croydon on a full-time basis.

You will support students with SEN inside and outside the classroom, including 1:1 or small-group work, and work closely with teachers to promote inclusive learning.

GSL Education is currently recruiting an enthusiastic and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive special school in Croydon on a full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant who is passionate about supporting children and young people with Special Educational Needs (SEN) and helping them to achieve their full potential.

The Role

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who have a range of additional needs, providing support both inside and outside the classroom. You may be working on a 1:1 basis or supporting students in small groups, depending on the individual needs of the students.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing 1:1 and small-group support to students with SEN
• Supporting students with their learning and development
• Assisting with classroom activities and adapting support to individual needs
• Building positive and trusting relationships with students
• Supporting students with communication, social and emotional development
• Promoting a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment
• Working closely with teachers and other members of the school team

The Ideal Candidate

To be considered for this SEN Teaching Assistant role, you must have:

• Previous experience working with children or young people with SEN
• A genuine passion for supporting students with additional needs
• A patient, caring and adaptable approach
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• The ability to build positive relationships with students
• Availability to work full-time

Experience supporting students with Autism, communication difficulties, learning disabilities or other additional needs would be highly beneficial.
