SEN Learning Support Assistant
Location: Chelmsford, Essex
Contract: Long term
Hours: 29.5 hours per week (8:50am – 3:30pm) | 39 weeks per year | Flexible shifts available
Salary: £90-£110 per day
Start Date: Immediate
An exciting opportunity has arisen for compassionate, proactive, and enthusiastic Specialist Learning Support Assistants to join a vibrant and inclusive special school in Chelmsford. The school supports pupils aged 3–19 with severe and profound learning difficulties, offering tailored, nurturing, and high-impact education.
This role is ideal for someone who is deeply passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people with complex needs and who thrives in a collaborative, creative environment.
About the Role:
As a Specialist Learning Support Assistant, you’ll play a vital part in supporting the learning, development, and care of pupils. Working in close partnership with teaching staff and therapists, you will help ensure that each child feels excited to attend school and proud of their achievements.
Your role will include:

  • Supporting students’ individual learning journeys through tailored activities.
  • Delivering one-on-one and small group interventions to promote engagement and progress.
  • Creating a safe, positive, and nurturing environment.
  • Collaborating with teachers and support staff to meet EHCP targets.
  • Assisting with personal care, sensory programmes, and emotional regulation strategies where needed.
