  • Salary: GBP21,279 to GBP23,908 per annum (dependent on experience)
  • Hours: Full-time (Monday to Friday)
  • Location: SEN School in Silsoe, Bedfordshire

Role Overview

Our Teaching Assistants (TAs) work alongside class teachers to support students, some of whom may display challenging behaviors due to trauma and SEMH needs. You may work with individuals or small groups, supporting a broad, balanced, and functional curriculum.

Ideal Candidate
  • Awareness of needs of children with SEMH and additional SEND needs
  • Empathetic, inclusive, and solution-focused
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices and positive mental health
  • Ability to manage challenging behavior
  • Team player and advocate for continuous improvement
Required Skills and Knowledge
  • First aid knowledge
  • Good relations with children and adults
  • Understanding of classroom roles, responsibilities, and curriculum
  • Effective ICT skills to support learning
  • Knowledge of relevant policies, legislation, and child development
  • Ability to self-evaluate and seek learning opportunities
Additional Information

This role requires flexibility and the willingness to undertake other duties as delegated. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory disclosure, right to work, and references, following government regulations and Safer Recruitment practices.
