Job summary

ASD Teaching Assistant role in Caerphilly for a specialist ALN school, supporting children aged 3–19 with ASD and ALN. You will assist with classroom activities, manage challenging behaviour and help learners build confidence and social skills.

The position is full-time, temporary long-term, with an immediate start and PAYE pay. On-site role in CF82 with market-leading pay and ongoing CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and ALN.
• Experience managing challenging behaviour and implementing positive behaviour strategies.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist ALN school based in Caerphilly, supporting children and young people aged 3 to 19 with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and additional learning needs. The school provides a supportive learning environment focused on helping pupils develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

The school is looking to take on a dedicated ASD Teaching Assistant on a full-time, temporary long-term basis through TeacherActive, with an immediate start available. The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will support pupils with autism / ASD and challenging behaviour, working closely with teaching staff to encourage positive engagement, manage behaviour effectively and build trusting relationships with pupils.

The successful ASD Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience supporting children and young people with Autism Spectrum Disorder / ASD and additional learning needs / ALN
• Experience managing challenging behaviour and implementing positive behaviour strategies
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills
• A bubbly, outgoing and approachable personality with a positive attitude
• Patience, resilience and the ability to adapt to individual pupils' needs
