Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking SEND teaching assistants for a primary school near Waterlooville with a dedicated specialist unit. The role starts September 2026 on a long-term contract.

Full time hours are 08:30–15:30, based in Portsmouth. You will work with children with SEND, including Speech, Language and communication needs, Autism and ADHD, delivering targeted interventions and 1:1 support where needed.

Qualifications

• Experience of working with children with SEND, Speech, Language and communication needs, Autism, ADHD etc
• Desire to work throughout Key stage 1
• Working with small groups delivering interventions such as Reading, Maths, Literacy, life skills and social skills or 1:1 with specific pupils and supporting their needs
• Full time role with the opportunity of a permanent contract

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with interventions in Reading, Maths, Literacy and life skills
• Work 1:1 with specific pupils and support their needs
• Assist with KS1 activities and inclusive classroom support
