Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd is seeking an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant for a long-term, on-site role at a Stechford school. You will support pupils with SLD/MLD/ASD and Speech, Language and Communication needs, following individual plans and contributing to learning access, communication and social development.

Role offers PAYE employment, immediate start, and daily pay between £95 and £115. Previous SEND experience and strong communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND.
• Experience supporting pupils with SLD, MLD, ASD and/or Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties.
• Experience working with pupils with EHCPs or Statements of Special Educational Need.
• Confident supporting pupils with additional communication, sensory or behavioural needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide individual and classroom support to pupils.
• Help pupils access learning and follow their individual support plans.
• Develop pupils' communication, independence and social skills.
• Collaborate with teachers to implement behaviour and learning strategies.

Are you an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant with a passion for supporting children with additional needs?

Do you have experience supporting pupils with SLD, MLD, Autism or Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties?

Are you patient, resilient and confident adapting your approach to support pupils with a range of learning, communication and behavioural needs?

TeacherActive is proud to be working with a specialist school in Stechford supporting children with cognition and learning needs. Pupils have Statements of Special Educational Need or Education, Health and Care Plans, with needs including Severe Learning Difficulties / SLD, Moderate Learning Difficulties / MLD, Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties and Autism / ASD, alongside some visual or hearing impairments and associated behaviour difficulties.

The school is looking to appoint SEN Teaching Assistants on a long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will provide individual and classroom support, helping pupils access learning and develop their communication, independence and social skills while following their individual support plans.

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have:

• Experience working with children or young people with SEND
• Experience supporting pupils with SLD, MLD, ASD and/or Speech, Language and Communication Difficulties
• Experience working with pupils with EHCPs or Statements of Special Educational Need
• Confidence supporting pupils with additional communication, sensory or behavioural needs
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• A patient, resilient and adaptable approach
