Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking an SEN Teaching Assistant for January in Bexley. You will provide tailored 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEND, particularly those with autism, ADHD, speech and language needs, or SEMH.

The role runs Monday to Friday, 8:30am–3:30pm, with ongoing opportunities in local schools. Candidates should have prior experience with SEND, be patient and adaptable, and able to build positive relationships with children, staff, and carers.

Qualifications

• Previous experience working with children with additional needs.
• Enhanced DBS or willing to apply.
• Full-time availability.

Responsibilities

Looking for a rewarding new role supporting children with additional needs?

Tradewind Recruitment is recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for January opportunities in primary schools throughout Bexley, including Sidcup, Welling, Erith and Bexleyheath.

We are particularly interested in candidates with experience supporting children with autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties or social, emotional and mental health needs (SEMH).

The role:

• Provide tailored 1:1 or small-group support for pupils with SEND.
• Help children access learning through adapted activities and structured routines.
• Support emotional regulation, communication and positive behaviour.
• Work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other support staff.
• Encourage independence, confidence and social development.

We're looking for candidates who:

• Have previous experience working with children with additional needs.
• Are patient, adaptable and confident building positive relationships.
• Understand the importance of consistency and clear communication.
• Can commit to a full-time school timetable.
• Have an enhanced DBS or are willing to apply for one.
• Experience in schools is desirable, although applicants with relevant childcare or specialist SEND experience are also encouraged to apply.
