Job summary

TimePlan Education is recruiting an SEN Teaching Assistant for a welcoming Special Needs School in Aylesbury, supporting secondary-aged students (11-18 years) with a range of additional needs.

The role involves working 1:1 and in small groups, assisting with learning and daily routines, and providing personal care where required. You will collaborate with teachers and therapists to help students access education and reach their potential.

Qualifications

  • Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
  • Enhanced DBS Certificate for Child Workforce or willingness to apply for one.
  • DBS Update Service with refund option after 20 days of work.

Location: Aylesbury
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm
Contract: Full Time, Term Time Only
Age Group: Secondary Students (11-18 years)

Are you passionate about supporting young people with additional needs? We are looking for caring, dedicated and enthusiastic SEN Teaching Assistants to join a welcoming Special Needs School supporting secondary-aged students (11-18 years).

This rewarding role involves working with students who have a range of additional needs, including:

  • Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities (PMLD)
  • Autism
  • Physical Disabilities
  • Complex Learning Needs

As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will provide support both in the classroom and throughout the school day, helping students access learning, develop independence, and reach their full potential.

The Role
  • Support students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
  • Assist students with their learning and daily routines.
  • Provide personal care where required.
  • Use manual handling techniques safely (training can be provided where necessary).
  • Build positive relationships and encourage independence.
  • Work closely with teachers, therapists and the wider school team to provide the best possible support.
Requirements
  • A caring, patient and compassionate approach.
  • Previous experience in a care setting, early years, support work, or with individuals with additional needs is highly desirable, although not essential.
  • An Enhanced DBS Certificate for Child Workforce registered on the DBS Update Service, or be willing to apply for one.
  • If you apply for a DBS through us, the cost can be refunded after 20 days of work.
