Job summary

Teaching Personnel is recruiting for SEN Teachers and Learning Support Assistants to work with SEND schools across Portsmouth and the surrounding Hampshire area.

We have immediate opportunities with permanent, temporary, and supply placements, offering competitive pay and local consultant support to help you make a meaningful impact in children’s lives with additional needs.

Qualifications

  • Qualified Teachers (QTS or equivalent).
  • Experienced LSAs or Teaching Assistants.
  • Passionate about supporting pupils in SEND settings.
  • Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, SEND-focused lessons tailored to individual pupil needs.
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress.
  • Work closely with LSAs, SENCOs, and the wider school team.
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment.
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups.
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management.
  • Support children with SEND, SEMH, or additional learning needs.
  • Help create a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

About the Roles

Teaching Personnel are working with SEND schools and specialist provisions across Portsmouth and the surrounding Hampshire area to recruit qualified Teachers and Learning Support Assistants.

We currently have several opportunities available for candidates ready to start immediately and make a meaningful impact in the lives of children with additional needs.

Role Responsibilities
Teachers
  • Deliver engaging, SEND-focused lessons tailored to individual pupil needs
  • Assess, track, and report on pupil progress
  • Work closely with LSAs, SENCOs, and the wider school team
  • Create a safe, structured, and inclusive learning environment
Learning Support Assistants (LSAs)
  • Support pupils on a 1:1 basis or in small groups
  • Assist teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management

Who We're Looking For
  • Qualified Teachers (QTS or equivalent)

  • Individuals who hold an enhanced child-only DBS (or are willing to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
