Job summary

Underley Garden School in Kirkby Lonsdale near the Lake District is seeking an SEN Teacher to join Outcomes First Group. You will deliver engaging, individualised lessons for pupils with autism and complex needs, guiding a small team and contributing to form tutor responsibilities where appropriate.

You will hold a recognised teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS) and bring a passion for helping pupils reach their potential, with strong relationships and resilience in a multi-disciplinary setting.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues.
• Resilience, adaptability and calm confidence with strong behaviour management.
• Driving licence required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver creative, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEN and SEMH.
• Create a positive, nurturing classroom environment that promotes confidence, independence and outstanding behaviour.
• Assess, monitor and track progress, using information to shape planning and interventions.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, therapists and families to achieve the best outcomes for every pupil.
• Support social, emotional and personal development while promoting positive behaviour and wellbeing.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school, including pastoral support, EHCP reviews, parent communication and ongoing improvement.
