Job summary

Underley Garden School, part of Outcomes First Group, is seeking an SEN Teacher to lead engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with complex needs. You will collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists and families to drive academic progress and social development.

Committed to safeguarding and high standards, you will also have the chance to take Form Tutor responsibilities, supporting a small team and ensuring personalised learning for every pupil.

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• A genuine passion for helping children overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
• The ability to build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues within a multi-disciplinary team.
• Resilience, adaptability and calm confidence, with strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills.
• Experience in SEN, SEMH or specialist education is desirable, but not essential.
• Driving licence is required.

Responsibilities

• Create engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to pupils with SEN and SEMH.
• Develop a positive, nurturing classroom environment promoting confidence and behaviour.
• Assess, monitor and track pupil progress to inform planning and interventions.
• Collaborate with colleagues, therapists and families to achieve best outcomes.
• Support social, emotional and personal development while promoting wellbeing.
• Contribute to pastoral support, EHCP reviews and school improvements.
