Job summary

The Education Specialists in Greater Manchester are seeking a Permanent SEN Teacher for a Specialist Education Setting. Join a dedicated team to support pupils with SEN, SEMH, and complex learning needs in a nurturing, structured environment.

Plan differentiated lessons, collaborate with TAs and staff, develop individual education plans, and promote independence and positive attitudes toward learning in a high-need setting.

Qualifications

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience working within SEN/SEND education.
• Experience with SEMH and challenging behaviour highly desirable.
• A calm, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Strong classroom and behaviour-management skills.
• The ability to differentiate effectively.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for helping pupils overcome barriers to education.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons adapted to individual learning needs.
• Provide effective teaching and support for pupils with SEN.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils.
• Manage behaviour confidently using positive and consistent strategies.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and wider support teams.
• Contribute to individual education and support plans.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning.
• Maintain high expectations while recognising individual barriers to learning.
• Follow safeguarding and school policies at all times.
