Job summary

Protocol Education Ltd. is recruiting a resilient SEN Teacher to join a specialist setting in Gateshead, supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs. You will provide structure, consistency and a personalised approach to learning, building trust and raising aspirations.

The role involves planning engaging lessons, managing behaviour, and working with TAs and pastoral staff to meet EHCP targets. Salary is competitive and dependent on experience and qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience working with SEMH, SEND, PRU, or behaviour-focused settings is highly desirable.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the desire to move into specialist education.
• All applicants must have appropriate qualifications and training for this role.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, accessible lessons.
• Adapt teaching to meet individual needs.
• Establish clear routines, expectations and boundaries.
• Manage behaviour using positive and consistent strategies.
• Support pupils with SEMH and additional needs.
• Build strong, professional relationships.
• Encourage pupils to engage with learning.
• Monitor progress and adapt teaching accordingly.
• Work towards EHCP targets.
• Promote independence and confidence.
• Work closely with TAs, pastoral staff and other professionals.
