Job summary

Five Education is seeking a committed SEN Teacher to work in a specialist provision in Bristol, catering to KS3 pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD). This full-time role involves planning and delivering tailored lessons, managing EHCP goals, and providing an inclusive, supportive environment.

Ideal candidates will hold QTS and have experience working with SEN students. The position offers excellent professional development opportunities and support throughout your placement.

SEN Teacher - KS3 (PMLD)

Location: Bristol | Hours: Full-time | Pay: MPS/UPS (Paid to Scale)

Five Education is working with a specialist SEN provision in Bristol to recruit a committed and compassionate SEN Teacher to work with a KS3 class of pupils with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD).

The Role

As the class teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, individualised learning experiences tailored to students with complex needs. This will include:

  • Planning and delivering adapted lessons to meet the needs of pupils with PMLD
  • Leading a classroom supported by Teaching Assistants and support staff
  • Managing EHCP targets, progress tracking, and communication plans
  • Supporting pupils' sensory, physical, and communication needsCreating a safe, inclusive, and stimulating environment
  • Completing marking, assessment, and planning responsibilities in line with a paid‑to‑scale role
  • Working collaboratively with therapists, SENCOs, and families
About You
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • Experience working with SEN pupils, ideally within a specialist or inclusive setting
  • A strong understanding of, or interest in, supporting children with PMLD
  • Ability to deliver creative, flexible, and differentiated teaching approaches
  • Strong teamwork and classroom leadership skills
  • Applicants without a formal SEN specialism will be considered if they can demonstrate relevant SEN experience and a passion for inclusive education
