Job summary

Phoenix Learning and Care Group in Thatcham is seeking a SEN Teacher to support neurodiverse children aged 7–11, delivering an individualised curriculum tailored to each pupil's needs, goals, strengths and aspirations.

You’ll lead small classes of four, plan, teach and assess learning, and work with an integrated therapies team. The role includes training, DBS coverage, a pension scheme, and generous wellbeing and discounts.

Qualifications

• Patience, compassion and resilience – pupils are neurodiverse, affecting learning behavior and communication.
• Great communication skills – verbal and written.
• A driving licence – facilitate transport for pupils.
• Genuine interest in education of people with diverse needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead classroom activities including planning, teaching and assessing learning for your class.
• Monitor and record progress academically and against EHCP outcomes.
• Keep pupils engaged, motivated and inspired to reach their full potential.
• Work 1:1 with pupils or in small groups to help them achieve learning goals.
• Collaborate with Teaching Assistants to direct support for pupils.
