Job summary

Phoenix Learning and Care is seeking a Teacher at Oakwood Specialist College in Yate to deliver personalised learning for neurodiverse young adults aged 16 to 25, with small class sizes of 5–7. You'll design engaging lessons within a Post-16 Study Programme, support social and communication skills, and work with a therapies team to implement a total communication environment.

The role includes planning, assessing, EHCP progress, and fostering independence, with term-time based schedule and 42.4

Qualifications

Patience, compassion and resilience for neurodiverse learners.
Excellent communication with learners, parents and stakeholders.
Ability to contribute to EHCPs and tailor a curriculum to targets.
Flexibility to adapt teaching styles as needs change.

Responsibilities

Lead classroom activities, plan, teach and assess your class across pathways to adulthood.
Monitor and record progress academically and against EHCP outcomes.
Engage learners to stay motivated and reach their learning goals.
Deliver inspirational learning opportunities in classroom or community settings.
Collaborate with Learning Support Assistants to support learners effectively.
