Job summary

Baston House School in Bromley is seeking an inspirational SEN Teacher to join our specialist team. You will deliver highly personalised learning and help pupils with SEND achieve academic, social and emotional progress in a safe, supportive environment.

As part of Outcomes First Group, you will work with a multi-disciplinary team to foster independence and confidence, delivering engaging lessons and contributing to pupil reviews and enrichment activities.

Qualifications

• QTS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND or strong commitment to specialist education.
• Ability to deliver inclusive, differentiated lessons for diverse learning needs.

Job description

Job Title: SEN Teacher

Location: Baston House School, Bromley, Kent, BR2 7AB

Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday-Friday | 8.30am - 4.30pm

Salary: Up to £48,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)

Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only

Start: October 2026

As an SEN Teacher, you’ll deliver engaging, inclusive and ambitious learning tailored to the individual needs of pupils with SEND. Working closely with a multi-disciplinary team, you’ll create a safe and positive learning environment where every achievement is celebrated and every pupil is supported to reach their potential. You’ll build strong relationships with pupils, families and colleagues, helping young people develop confidence, independence and the skills they need for life beyond school. What You’ll Do

• Planning and delivering personalised lessons that meet pupils' individual learning needs, EHCP outcomes and developmental targets.
• Adapting teaching approaches, resources and communication methods to ensure every pupil can access learning successfully.
• Monitoring and assessing progress, using evidence to inform future teaching and celebrate achievement.
• Creating nurturing, structured and engaging learning environments that promote confidence and independence.
• Supporting pupils' social, emotional and behavioural development through positive and relational approaches.
• Working collaboratively with therapists, support staff, families and external professionals to provide holistic support.
• Contributing to annual reviews, progress meetings and pupil reports.
• Playing an active role in the wider life of the school, including enrichment activities, educational visits and school events.

What We’re Looking For

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification required.
• Have experience teaching children and young people with SEND, or can demonstrate a strong commitment to specialist education.
• Understand the importance of creating inclusive learning environments where every child feels valued and supported.
• Can deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to a wide range of learning needs.
• Are skilled in building positive relationships and supporting emotional regulation and wellbeing.
• Thrive as part of a collaborative and multi-disciplinary team.
• Have aspirations to develop curriculum leadership skills or previous experience leading a subject area.
