Job summary

Academics is seeking an experienced SEN Teacher to join an Alternative Provision in Gloucester. You will plan and deliver lessons for learners with additional needs, working closely with teaching assistants to provide an inclusive learning environment.

The role is term-time only, with daily rate for a successful candidate determined by experience. You should have qualified teacher status with SEN experience, be patient and resilient, and able to manage behaviour in a calm, supportive manner to

Qualifications

• Qualified SEN teacher with QTS and experience in SEN/Alternative Provision.
• Experience planning and delivering lessons for learners with additional needs.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour calmly.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply for one.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons tailored to individual learner needs.
• Provide high quality teaching and learning opportunities across the curriculum.
• Support learners with a range of additional needs, including social, emotional and behavioural needs.
• Create a calm, safe and inclusive classroom environment.
• Build positive, trusting and respectful relationships with learners.
• Adapt teaching strategies and resources to meet individual learning needs.
• Monitor and assess learner progress, providing appropriate feedback and support.
• Work closely with Teaching Assistants and support staff to ensure learners receive consistent support.
