Job summary

Supply Desk are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary SEN Teacher to join a welcoming school in the Rickmansworth area. This role focuses on supporting pupils with special educational needs, adapting lessons to meet individual EHCP targets and promoting inclusive learning.

The ideal candidate will hold QTS or equivalent, have experience with SEN, and possess strong communication and safeguarding commitment.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching secondary pupils with SEN.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated teaching.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver differentiated lessons for secondary pupils with SEN.
• Provide tailored support for pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH and more.
• Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
• Set learning goals and monitor progress against EHCP targets.
• Collaborate with teaching assistants, therapists, and parents.
• Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Use varied teaching methods to maximise participation.

About the Role

Supply Desk are currently seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Secondary SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Rickmansworth area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about supporting young people with Special Educational Needs and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, engaging and accessible lessons, adapting your approach to meet the individual needs of pupils and supporting their academic, social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that are appropriate for secondary-aged pupils with additional needs.
• Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
• Establish a positive, structured and inclusive learning environment where pupils feel safe and confident.
• Set appropriate learning goals and monitor pupil progress in line with EHCP targets.
• Work closely with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and other professionals to ensure pupils receive consistent and effective support.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and independence throughout the school day.
• Use a range of creative teaching methods and resources to encourage participation and maximise learning.
• Support pupils in developing the skills, confidence and independence they need for their future education and beyond.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have
