Job summary

Supply Desk are currently looking for a passionate, committed SEN Teacher to join a welcoming school in the Hemel Hempstead area. You will deliver engaging, differentiated lessons for pupils with SEN, supporting academic progress and social development.

The role requires QTS and experience with EHCPs; you will work with teaching assistants and therapists, maintain accurate records, and contribute to safeguarding. The position is full-time with ongoing support and CPD opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

About the Role

Supply Desk are currently looking for a passionate, committed and experienced SEN Teacher to join a welcoming and supportive school in the Hemel Hempstead area. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated teacher who is passionate about making a positive difference to the lives of children and young people with Special Educational Needs.

The successful candidate will provide engaging, personalised and inclusive learning experiences for pupils with a range of additional needs, supporting their academic progress as well as their social and emotional development.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
• Support pupils with a variety of SEN, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and learning difficulties.
• Establish and maintain a safe, nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate records in line with EHCP targets.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, parents and external professionals.
• Encourage positive behaviour and promote pupils emotional wellbeing.
• Adapt teaching approaches and strategies to maximise engagement, progress and achievement.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS or equivalent).
• Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
• Strong understanding of EHCPs and differentiated learning approaches.
• Excellent communication and behaviour management skills.
• A patient, compassionate, and resilient approach.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
